The History of Our Christian Camp
Founded over 50 years ago on the property of the Lank family farm in Wilson’s Beach, Edith Lank exists as an outreach ministry of the Wilson’s Beach United Baptist Church. Campobello Island, at the mouth of the historic Passamaquoddy Bay, is the home of Edith Lank Memorial Christian Camp.
The property for the camp was donated by loving husband, William B. Lank, in memory of his wife, Edith Lank, to Wilson’s Beach United Baptist Church. Out of respect for his wishes, in 1955 Edith Lank Memorial Christian Camp was born to honour this great woman of God.
The history of this camp speaks for itself in that if you realize a dream and there are passionate Christ followers obediently following that vision, anything is possible. Through the love and support of Wilson’s Beach United Baptist Church, this camp has been here for 53 years and has seen hundreds, if not thousands, of lives touched and changed in the name of our LORD and saviour, Jesus Christ.
It takes prayer and availability for a camp to be supported by a single church for that length of time. Now with a few other Churches love and support we are excited to see what God has in store for this camp . Some say that when they step on the camp property that they can feel God’s presence here.
